We accept check or cash as payment.

What are your fees (how much does it cost)?

Do you have a sliding fee scale?

Yes. If you cannot afford my rate and can provide some financial documentation (for example, a pay stub), I would work with you to come up with a reduced rate. If that rate is still unaffordable, there are many clinics on Long Island that provide counseling. Below are two examples:

Are your services covered by insurance?

Usually not. Many insurance companies will not reimburse without what is called an "R number" which I do not have. Marriage counseling is rarely covered by insurance, except where one partner is diagnosed to have an emotional disorder.

Also, it is worth remembering that while insurance reimbursement can lessen the cost of treatment, it does come with some drawbacks. It requires that personal information about your treatment be revealed to an insurance company. That information then becomes part of your permanent medical record and can be subpoenaed in a legal proceeding (you can request a free copy of your medical records once a year by going to the Medical Information Bureau web site or by calling 866-692-6901). Insurance companies use your medical records when deciding whether to offer you insurance (life, health and disability) and at what cost.

What does the acronym ACH mean?

ACH stands for Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist. I studied hypnotherapy at the Wellness Institute from 2007-2009, accumulating 255 hours of supervised hypnotherapy training and practicum in focused areas such as addictions, sexual abuse, codependency, eating disorders and grief/loss.

What if a I miss a session?

If you give at least 24 hours notice, we can re-schedule at a later date. Appointments that are missed without 24 hours notice will be charged for the cost of a regular session unless there was an unavoidable emergency. Please understand that when you schedule a time slot, that time slot becomes unavailable for other clients. If you are unsure about a given date and time, consider choosing another date and time where you can be sure you can attend.
